Larry A. Donaldson

Mr. Donaldson's nearly 35-year legal career has provided him with extensive experience in multiple areas of practice, including civil and criminal litigation, personal injury, wills and trusts, family law, as well as business and real property law. This wide-ranging experience was gained from being in private practice for over 13 years, as well as working for governmental entities.

Mr. Donaldson has served as a Deputy District Attorney for the County of Fresno and Assistant District Attorney for the Kings County. His municipal law experience was gained as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Visalia, and the 16 years he spent as Senior Deputy City Attorney for the City of Fresno. He currently serves as Assistant City Attorney for the City of Grover Beach and General Counsel for the Del Rey Community Services District.

Mr. Donaldson is a Martindale-Hubbell AV Rated Attorney, which is the highest Peer Review rating for Legal Ability and Ethical Standards an attorney can achieve.

In August 2004, Mr. Donaldson joined Mr. Koczanowicz in the Oakhurst office, establishing the law firm of Koczanowicz & Donaldson. He joined Cota Cole & Associates (now Cota Cole LLP) in 2009. Presently, Mr. Donaldson focuses his practice in the areas of wills and trusts, municipal law, personal injury, and business and civil litigation.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Donaldson is a part-time Professor in the Criminology Department of California State University-Fresno where he has taught since 1992. He also serves as a judge for the Paul Harvey Wallace Regional College Mock Trial Competition, and is a frequent lecturer for police agencies throughout the San Joaquin Valley. Mr. Donaldson is a member of the Eastern Madera County Bar Association.

Mr. Donaldson graduated from San Joaquin College of Law and was admitted to the California State Bar in 1975. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a lifetime secondary teaching credential from California State University-Fresno in 1969.
